"As separate individuals, we live in separate cultures haunted by the vague memory of an intimacy that we all share. Let us, all together, chase the very horizon of existence, the edge of understanding, the point at which new sensations, emotions, thoughts and ideas begin to emerge… and let us bring this intimacy alive." ~Alex Mero
Why should we meditate? And is meditation beneficial for everyone?
Through meditation, we attempt to experience the very nature of reality within ourselves. It is a way to discover who we really are and to better understand what is essential in life. It helps us become One with the only real movement, without the help of our memory. Meditation is direct contact with the present moment. It is a wonderful way to observe ourselves, our sensations, thoughts, recurrent feelings, and our lifestyles.
My deepest wish does not differ from my profoundest vision. I notice in the world a new way of thinking, and accordingly, a new way of life. Already there is much more harmonious and appropriate behaviour, and this will without doubt, lead every single man to act as a responsible citizen of this small planet Earth.
How do we know if our partner is the right one, and that our relationship is a good thing?
A relationship with someone is a temporary event, since, as with all relationships, duality exists. We know that no form of duality is eternal, but we also know that everything that brings us closer to reality, has a meaning. The only permanent relationship we have is with ourselves. The questions we must ask ourselves are the following: are we learning more about ourselves with the relationship we have with our current partner? Is it bringing us closer to who we really are, and do we feel truly united with the other person, and living a real union? An honest analysis and reflexion provides all the answers.
Awakening is an inexhaustible state of mental and spiritual energy. The term “awakening” is interpreted as the cessation of all separateness or division within our person. This is referring to an integral way of perceiving, which is complete and free of any duality. When we experience this ultimate realization, we perceive less and less separation between the world and the Absolute. There remains only a state of uninterrupted creativity from which we are deeply aware that the universe is constantly sending us signs, as well as synchronized events, that lead us to experience,to the fullest, our highest goal in life.
In your novel, there is reverence of a relationship between spiritual partners. Can you describe what constitutes a wholesome and healthy relationship between a man and a woman?
In order for there to be a spiritual relationship, there must be a solid base of love already present between the two partners. Each individual must have the ability for intimacy with himself, and harmony between his inner duality. The couple can than experience a loving life together without need of exerting power over the other, and certainly, above all else, without waiting for the other to fulfill the love in their stead. This relationship than becomes one of healing; a choice to face, head on, one’s pain and emotional wounds, to than elevate and rise above them; to purify oneself. We cannot truly love another without first recognizing one’s own source of suffering. Once this stage is passed, love naturally unfolds through the divine source and enables unconditional love; a love that completely unites the two partners, in all its grandeur and beauty, regardless of the weight and shadows that covered it beforehand. ~Alex Mero
“You are part of those who, day by day, strive for goodness with intelligence. Is it possible to teach this approach?” Nathan asked Vadim.
“I think so,” Vadim answered. “Although, goodness is something that one learns by oneself. Certainly, we all have the tendency to become like those around us. This is a trend that is seen everywhere; our surroundings rub off on us.”
“We do indeed have the tendency to adapt to the level of the people around us.” Melvin agreed. “What our behaviour shows, is what we teach.”
“You’re confirming what I have always thought.” Nathan said. “Goodness can therefore be taught; it can be transmitted.”
“Certainly,” Vadim said, “But I must add that to truly acquire sincere goodness, the receiver will obviously have to do the necessary actions.”
“I see that many of you are sincere in your desire to fight injustice. In this respect, I’d like to tell you something important.”
Everyone was all ears.
“My friends, remember that when it comes to improving life on earth, there is something much more powerful and much more efficient than the will.”
Everybody was intensely curious now to know what important statement Nathan was going to pronounce!
“It has to do with understanding the world around us! Every action we undertake is dependent on that. If this understanding is rooted in the source of our thoughts and feelings, it will guide us well.”
Again Nathan paused a moment to let the meaning of his words be understood. Finally, a man in a suit asked him: “How do we know what’s at the source of our thoughts and feelings?”
“By reflecting on what our real motivation is,” Nathan answered, “For that, we need to ask ourselves this question: what is the ultimate goal that I’m trying to attain?”
Nathan paused for a moment and then continued with fervor: “I know that you’re questioning and wondering about the best strategy to employ in organizing events, but is every one of you deeply convinced of the real reason for these events?”
He paused again. The public was completely still, mesmerized by every word.
“Ask yourselves ‘what do I think is an ideal world’, and ‘how can I contribute to it’. These are the questions that if you spend enough time on them, will give you a deep understanding of things.”
Nathan stood up, and ended his speech with strong and poignant sentences, interspersed with long pauses, which had the effect similar to that of collective hypnosis on the listeners:
“Those who are truly looking for the good will recognize each other! They will feel a powerful connection between each other and will then be able to use their full potential! Their actions will serve as examples for others, and little by little, this will lead to a transformation of the world, until it finally becomes a welcoming and inspiring place for all!”
Truly, to change anything on the external, requires a change on the internal. Perhaps not a change, but an awareness of who we are and what matters above all, Love.
Being aware, brings peace and harmony, and that influences the outside. Our thoughts, our actions, our words become ones of Love and Peace, and that has the effect of inspiring others.
