Books and Truth

image

What books would you recommend for those looking for the Truth?

A book is but a set of words and concepts. Although it can reveal certain truths, it can never be able to convey the true nature of all things. Ultimate reality cannot be expressed other than in a direct manner, by directly experiencing it. Words relate to distinct things, which apparently exist in a separate manner, and we know that any type of distinction is definitively an illusion. But it’s true that all conceptual distinctions allow our mind to perceive reality. It’s through illusion that we discover reality. Every book can therefore teach us something on reality, but we must always be aware to take nothing as absolute truth, and to remain open to the essence of all that is.

Eternal Happiness

How can we find eternal happiness?

Everything we feel as human beings comes from a personal domain. Happiness, however, is not a personal state. Our happiness always depends on the happiness of others. That being said, once we can extricate ourselves from the game of the past and the future, we attain a state of peace with the present moment, where life unfolds with truth and love. This is the only way we connect with our true nature.

How Important are Dreams?

Dreams

How important are dreams?

When we are dreaming, we are accessing a consciousness that is less dense and less conditioned than our consciousness in the wake states. Dreams enable us to experience a different reality. There are three different types of dreams: the common dream, which is the most frequent, permits the release of tension by clearing our visual, auditory and tactile memory; the lucid dream, in which we are aware of the fact that we are dreaming, and in which the situations we encounter prepare us for certain events in real life; and the third type, the most extraordinary one, is the exceptional dream, which is really an astral projection. This is literally when we leave our bodies during sleep and journey in the astral world towards other dimensions. ~Alex Mero

Experiencing Other Dimensions

Other Dimensions

How can we experience another dimension other than the physical one in which we live?

It is possible to experience other dimensions through deep silence or during sleep. It’s in the depth of silence that a large part of our attention, if not all of it, is focused beyond our everyday perceptions. It is therefore possible to perceive another reality behind the world of appearances. In fact, this is the basis of meditation; through silence of the mind, we are able to transcend into other dimensions. ~Alex Mero

Real Love and Relationships

“What do they talk about with you?” Nathan asked.
“All kinds of problems, but usually they are all centered on the same subject. Many people imagined their romantic relationships differently. They often believed they had found real love with their partners, but with time, they became totally disillusioned.” Catalina answered.
“When do we know if it’s real love?” Nathan asked curiously.
“It’s simple; love is not real if it changes when the circumstances change!” She stated.
“In a relationship, doesn’t love and suffering sometimes go hand in hand?” Nathan asked.
“Suffering comes about when a relationship is based on need, when subconsciously, one partner wants to possess or dominate the other. What sustained that relationship in the beginning was the need for love that brought about that relationship in the first place, and then it became a habit, and often, it ends in solitude.” She explained.
“Why do some relationships seem so promising in the beginning?”
“In the beginning, feelings of love are subconsciously projected on the person we meet.” Catalina stated.
“In that case, does it mean that those feelings of love were not sincere?” Nathan asked.
“Love is always present within each of us. We don’t need someone else to experience it.”
“Are you saying that we don’t need anyone else to feel love?” Nathan asked.

“No, we don’t need to search for it, and definitely, we should not want to dominate another. Many people erroneously imagine that they can find the love they want in someone else, but no one can give us what we already have.” Catalina stated.

“What does a loving relationship mean to you, Catalina?”
Catalina took her time to properly formulate her answer. Finally, she said: “Loving is taking the time to truly be interested in one another, to be with one another, but especially to find peace with one another.”
“Then I believe I have a loving relationship with Sophie.” Nathan said.
Catalina smiled.
“We have a loving relationship with everyone, Nathan. What renders your relationship with Sophie particular is the intimacy you share together.” She stated.
“What is the most important thing about a relationship?” Nathan asked.
“To always dare to recognize the truth of the moment.” Catalina replied.
“The truth of the moment?” Nathan asked curiously.
“It’s what we learn by giving the other the possibility of expressing himself or herself, whether it’s disapproval, admiration, anger or joy.”

How much richer relationships are when the two parties feel complete within themselves, when they realize that Love has always been within, and then they embark on a relationship as a “sharing” of such Love rather then searching for it in the other… If you have the impression that Love is on the outside and you need to find it in another person to feel “complete”, then you’ll always be disillusioned.

How Are We “Conditioned’?

How are we “conditioned”, and can we ever completely free ourselves from it?

Wherever we are or go, we carry with us an image of ourselves. We create and re-create this image based on our thoughts, words and actions. This image was progressively installed in our minds by the influence of our culture, education, traditions, nationality, and all the things we identify ourselves with. With time, we develop certain habits and a certain structure of thought that is the origin of our behavioural patterns, which are very difficult to break free from. Our choices then, become very restrictive and our habits become the boundaries of our world. Freedom from this conditioning can only be done by gaining awareness of how our thoughts are formed, especially the persistent negative thoughts which we have been identifying ourselves with.
